Ok. hi guys.

As the description say, im a little curious (newbie) of what to do.
I want to build my very first custom loop and as you all might know, the watercooling kits that you can buy, really is coming down in price (in Denmark they do)

So my question for your all is: will i be able to run my fx8350@4.6ghz and 290x by only using a 240mm radiator?

Second question, http://www.coolerkit.dk/shop/ek-kit-l240-3519p.html this is the kit i am interested in buying. i dont like the black tubes so im thinking: if i find some clear tubes in the same dimension as the black that is included in the kit can i then use that instead?

Thanks in advance, Daniel :)

FX8350 and 290X on a 240mm.
Nope... Nowhere near enough rad space, considering they are high power draw components I would be looking at dual 240mm or equivalent in rad space.

You can use whatever tubes you want so long as they fit on the provided fittings. Those are compression fittings, so your tubing needs to match the inner and outer diameter of the fitting.

You got some good advice. Generally people factor 120mm of radiator capacity for each component, then add 120mm. So for cpu only (1 part) 240mm. For cpu and gpu (2 parts) 120+120 + additional 120 = 360mm radiator. Given both those components tend to run warmer than others and since you want to overclock, 480 (or 2x240mm radiators) would be a safer bet. You may need to check length of your tubing and if you added another radiator to that kit you were looking at, you may need to determine if the pump will be sufficient. It might require a slightly stronger pump to push through longer tubing and/or bigger/multiple radiators.

Im thanking you for the very useful answers.

Meanwhile i have decided to go buy an intel i5 4690k and wait for the 390x to come out (if it does) until that i will wait.

Again thanks for the help. Daniel.
