Newbie cpu help

I got my son a good graphics card last year and this year wants a cpu upgrade. He only plays things like the Isle etc but wants an upgrade.
Some of his specification is
MOTHERBOARD]: MSI A88XM-E35
[PROCESSOR]: AMD Athlon II X4 860K 4x3.70Ghz (max 4.0Ghz)
Radeon Rx 470 4Gb gaming x graphics card.
Ballistix Sport 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) UDIMM 240-Pin - BLS2CP8G3D1609DS1S00CEU

Hi, With the 860k installed, I see no option for an upgrade on that board. If no SSD installed, you could buy one, instead of a CPU.

There aren't any worthwhile upgrades on that board because of the CPU socket limitations ; he would need a different board, CPU, and probably RAM unless you bought used parts.
