I am building my first PC and wanted to test my Mobo, ram and cpu connections. I fired up the board with no heat sink or thermal paste on the CPU just to see if it was wired correctly. (it was) It was on for about 2 mins max. The computer did not shut off or anything. However after thinking about it, I decided to check and make sure I didn't do anything rash. Well, I did and know better now. I got a water block on the way and am hoping my CPU is ok. What do you guys think? Am I safe or did I just make an awesome mistake? Thanks!

That was a very silly thing to do, thankfully, CPU have a thermal cut off, so you may be ok, only way to find out for sure is to try it, this time with some sort of heatsink on.

yes, yes it was. Im really hoping its ok. The MOBO had a red led lit up to signal a fault with the cpu but again no shut down. so fingers crossed.
