Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong section, it's my first post!
Anyways guys, so basically this is my build so far:
NZXT Phantom White Full Tower Case
i5 2500k
ASUS P8Z68-V LX Motherboard
Corsair TX 650w V2 PSU - 80+ Bronze Certified
GTX 560 ti 448 edition
Corsair Vengance DDR3 SDRAM DIMM 240-pin 1600MHz CL9 XMP - 16GB
Questions I wanted to ask:
I did a fair amount of research, and made sure both the motherboard and CPU used the same socket thingy, but could you guys confirm that all this hardware will successfully connect up, is it all compatible?
I want to overclock to stable 4.5ghz, and maintain decent temps, I've researched, and found this Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 Pro, will this cooler be fine to run at 4.5ghz with decent temps?
Are all thermal pastes for CPUs for same, or is there a superior brand? Which should I use? Is thermal paste included with coolers or do I need to purchase separately?
I have no idea how overclocking works, or voltages? Is there any advice you guys can give? Where I should start to learn, and stuff? You get what I mean right?
Is ESD discharge a big thing? I've heard I should keep touching my pc case? if I get one of those arm band strap thingies, do I need to buy 2 or 1? I will be working on the mobo from outside the case, to make sure everything all connects up, does the same rule apply? or can I only discharge static electricity when the motherboard is inside the case? sorry for asking total noob questions lol, but I'd be very grateful if you specialists could help me out.
How do I tell if something is defective, like if a part is dead? like the motherboard or CPU?
Once again guys, thanks in advance, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
