Just bought an MSI geforce gtx 1080 video card. First video card I bought that requires extra power connector.
The card has both a 6-pin and an 8-pin power inputs.
The power supply has 4 sets of PCI-E outputs on two cables, each cable has two 6+2 pin outputs.
What is the correct way to connect them?
My guess is:
use both the 6+2 and 6 pin (leave the 2 pin dangling) connectors on one cable to connect to both the 6-pin and 8-pin power input on the video card.
The other power cable is probably use in a dual video card config, Since I only have one video card, I can probably unplug this cable from the PSU to have more air space in the case
