Newbie - Overclocked my aged i7-870 to 3.7GHz

Decided to try and OC my CPU to 3.7 and so far it's very stable. I can notice the performance increase and it's great, but the temps worried me a bit, they raised from around 56 to the 60-65 degree celsius range.

Are these temps fine for long-term CPU use? They usually hover around 63 or 64 while playing GTA 5, but never go over 66. These temps won't damage the CPU too much, right?

I use the PC almost daily, and play video games, surf the web, with the occasional video editing every now and then.

No need to worry unless you're seeing a consistent 85C+ under load. 66C is a great temp for an overclocked Nehalem i7.

Generally the max safe temperature under load is 80C. The max safe VCore for that generation is 1.40V. Anything over 80C is considered hot.

those are safe temps, no need to worry about it, rendering will be a bit more cpu intensive for testing your cpu, but i wouldnt worry about it either unless you have 5+ hours renders daily.
