Newbie question.- HDMI to male or female VGA

Hi,

I have ordered one Lenovo L2021 monitor

so that I can connect it to my laptop. Since my laptop has only an HDMI port,
which exact cable should I use? Is it

I would go with an HDMI to DVI cable - here's a link to a product that should work for your needs:

The second one, male-to-male, is what you need. As said above, if you can use DVI please do.

Use an HDMI to DVI cable. That will keep the signal digital.
