Hello folks - I recently installed the Asus ROG Strix z490-e motherboard and I have a few questions - wondering if you could help me out...

I have dual GPUs (3090 & 2080ti) and I also have the Hyper m.2 x16 card which contain 2x2TB + 2x1TB NVMes

Now, the cards are installed as depicted in the picture below:

My questions are:

  1. The system only detects the 2x2TB NVMe's from the Hyper Card and doesn't detect the the other 2x1TB from the Hyper Card ( doesn't show in the BIOS also)
  2. Is the configuration ok and optimal?
  3. I'm confused about the PCIe slots reducing from 8x to 4x speeds and I assume that's what's happening now to my 2080ti - can someone guide me on this?
  4. Can I RAID0 all the NVMe's in the Hyper Card to operate as 1 disk?
  5. I've enabled the Hyper M.2X16 setting in the BIOS

Solution
Can I RAID-0 all the NVMe's in the Hyper Card to operate as 1 disk?
No.

A RAID 0 must be done with drives of similar size.
2+2+1+1 + RAID 0 = 4TB RAID array, not 6.

Unless you fall into a very small use case scenarion, RAID 0 on SSD, especially NVMe, is worse than useless.

what exactly are you trying to do? i would sell the 2080ti while you still can

Specifically this:

I'm confused about the PCIe slots reducing from 8x to 4x speeds and I assume that's what's happening now to my 2080ti - can someone guide me on this?

Can I RAID-0 all the NVMe's in the Hyper Card to operate as 1 disk?

I don't want to sell the 2080 ti - particularly using it a few tasks that requires multiple GPUs
