Newbie question...

Hi there, I'm planning on building a computer in the next couple of weeks, and I wanted some advice on which heatsink/fan combo I should use. (I'll be using an Athlon XP 1600)

1) I'm probably not going to overclock it much, if at all.
2) I want to stay between 40-50 degrees (sounds reasonable?)
3) Noise is a very important factor. I'm in a dorm room, and I won't be able to sleep with my fan thrashing away 🙂.
4) Price. I don't need to penny-pinch, but I want to try to keep it under $40 if possible.

I was looking at the Swiftech MCX-370, but then I found out they run pretty loudly. Any suggestions?

two suggestions:

1. If you aren't overclocking, you would be fine with the stock HS that comes with a retail Athy. You won't be down to 50 under load, but you won't be too hot either.

2. Turn off the computer while you sleep! (Doh)
