Extreamely newbie question, mostly because i've never known anything about drivers...

Do drivers only read, and CD burners burn CD's AND read?

I think you have drives and drivers mixed up.

Drives are what you are describing.

Drivers are written code that helps the hardware its written for to communicate and optimally work in the operating system environment and with other hardware.

Hopefully that clears that up. I'm surprised with as many posts you have made here you haven't had that cleared up already...

Games can use pretty much what they want, some games (not much now) use CDs, most use DVDs and I'm assuming some might start using Blu-Ray in the near future (PS3 games use Blu-Ray). Whatever format they use, they are always read-only media, you cannot write on a game's disc.
