Hello guys, I'm new in the forum and I was away from tech world for very long time so consider me a newbie.

I want to build a relatively cheap gaming pc and here are some parts I thought I'd use.

CPU - Ryzen r5 1400
Mobo - Something supports faster RAM?
GPU - GTX 1060 AERO ITX 6G OC
RAM - 2x4GB(2x8GB?) 3000+ RAM brand?
SSD - Samsung 850 EVO 250GB

I'll keep editing this post with the recommendations from you guys.

Basically what I want is a decent gaming PC and room for upgrade later. I don't want to spend lots of money right now but upgrade part by part in time.

Your kind recommendations will be appreciated. Thank you so much to you all in advance.

Note : I live in Japan.

can you get a prepaid card (visa mastercard or other)? they are sold in convenience stores here, buy the card for a few bucks, load it up, load it up, and when you have enough anywhere that takes a credit card will work. an option you may not be aware of.

I'm sorry I guess I wasn't clear. Yes, I can get prepaid cards and in fact I already have. What I meant was I gotta spend the money I have in my pocket. I can't buy anything with installments or credit card and pay later, that is my problem.

By the way I live in Japan.

I do not see anything wrong with the system except the missing chassis. but really any chassis will do. the CPU is a good starter and the mobo is OC ready. when looking for RAM start at 3000mhz as the bottom speed. Ryzen loves and greatly benefits from the added bandwidth.

get a quality PSU do not try to save a penny on this part. the PSU literally feeds and keeps the parts alive. Don't Skimp On A PSU.
EVGA g2 or G3 550W or better, great quality and a 7 yr warranty 10 years at 750W and higher
Corsair RM550x or better, great quality and a 10 year warranty
seasonic S12II or M12II or the corsair cx550m or better (grey label only green label are bad units) as the least I suggest. good quality and 5 yr warranties
seasonic prime 12 year warranty

good system. nothing wrong at all.
I would go this way though, a cheaper case would allow for a faster GPU. still dual fans and matches the white case.

I am assuming the build you posted as the price limit. if you can afford a bit more the 6GB card will be relevant longer than the 3GB.

Hmm that's actually what I first had in mind but guess I got stingy lol. It's not like I have a limit, I just don't wanna spend more than necessary since I'm more of a casual gamer.

What I care about is that I want to use it for long time and upgrade little by little. For example, I can just decide to get a GTX 1080TI on a whim few months later. (probably not but not impossible) So do you think it's more important that I should start with a stronger CPU, maybe Ryzen 5 1600?

1. Flips the R3 for a R5 for Future proofing.. more threads for only $20 more
2. Flipped the Mainboard for one just as good just a little cheaper at the moment.
3, Flipped the Asus GPU for the EVGA.. little cheaper higher clock rate and best Warranty you will find.
4. Compensated RAM CAS timing for higher Clock rate and cheaper price
5. Compensated the PSU for one that is still good just smaller and cheaper
6. Flipped the 250 SSD for a 1TB Spinner and a smaller SSD.. 250GB as a main drive only fills up damn fast there are plenty of titles that take up 100GB now.
7. Loss the SSD and you can easily move to a 1060 6GB.. its a upgrade just not a huge one.

This is very similar to two that I will finish building tomorrow with the exception I grabbed the Asus 1060 3gb for $187, because your probbaly going to order these part by part shipping is going to kill you. Keep this list up and constantly watch the price they change every 3 days, this entire build fluxes by as much as $50.

Thanks! That's a great help. I want to change the parts for the better later but SSD will be a pain to change so should I just stop thinking about money and get a better SSD with higher memory? I have 3 TB portable Seagate HDD so I don't need to worry about memory but 256GB for main does sound a bit troubling...

I just found a cheap GTX 1060 AERO ITX 6G OC on internet and purchased it. I'm still waiting for recommendations on RAM or CPU (Ryzen1200 or higher for future upgrades)

The R5 1400 is the best you will find for Ryzen on a budget build, it over clocks to the same performance as all the other R5's and in most games gives the same fps as the R7's.

Ram? That depends on the motherboard your going to buy as support isn't 100% yet Gigabyte seems to have the worst drivers out on AB350 to address that issue. The worst part is buying 3000 or 3200 ram speeds and turning it on to see 2133 or 2666 because no AB350 at the moment natively supports that Speed.

Ryzen 5 1400 $139 free shipping in US

ASRock AB350 Pro4 $69.99 after $20.00 rebate... rebates are slow but $$ is $$
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157761

The best deals you will find on CPU/Motherboard combos are from MicroCenter but they don't ship so you would need a 3rd party to do that for you. The AB350 Pro4 + Ryzen 5 1400 is $198

Ryzen 5 1400 sounds good but motherboard is gonna be problem I guess. Apparently Ryzen like the high speed RAM so I though I'd get a 3000 for now and upgrade for higher at a later time. Can you suggest a MoBo for that?

Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-AB350-GAMING 3 ATX AM4 Motherboard ($84.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $84.99

Motherboard: ASRock - AB350M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($74.33 @ OutletPC)
Total: $74.33

Motherboard: MSI - B350 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard ($91.49 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $91.49

These are the best for $100 and under each has it's strengths and weakness.

1. GA-AB350-GAMING 3
Best overall for Software, Bios and features but RAM compatibility is still a issue.

2. ASRock - AB350M Pro4
Bios software isn't as robust but it isn't lacking in the features that you need. Ram support is much better than the other two.

3. B350 TOMAHAWK
Best to Overclock on has the same VRM setup as the 370 boards. Bios has less featuresand there are still some RAM issues.

All of these support up to 3200mhz RAM "O.C" going above that wont do you any good 2666mhz or 3000mhz RAM will Overclock to 3200mhz easy enough.

Let's say I can increase my budget a bit more for the MoBo maybe 160-170$. Can I find something that has all those advantages? RAM support, good software and OC potential?

Thank you very much for all your posts. I can't thank you enough. I think after all I'll buy the parts one by one maybe once a month. I don't have the luxury to build a good pc at once but if it's one part a month I can make a pretty decent one. I'll close this thread but I'm hoping I can get help from you guys in my future threads as well. I thank everyone who helped me one more time.
