Alright, I just started building my first computer over the past summer and am pretty comfortable with my ability to get around a computer. So i don't consider myself that much a newbie. Anyways, i just upgrade to the dual core processor and was wondering about over clocking.
I just wanna know if anyone can give my a link or something to a solid overview to overclocking. And also is it dangerous to overclock? Does the reward out weigh the risks? thanks

hey mate. i am not much of an OC expert but i have OCed a system before. it happened to be an AMD cpu.

its a bit risky if you are not careful but that risk outweighs the excitement u feel after u run it stable and faster :)
i am currently waiting to receive my 5200 which i will try to OC in the next day or 2.
i am planning to read this forum:
www.overclock.net
and
http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=391768

There are three nice overclocking articles on tomshardware.com that were written quite recently. Think the last part was in the quickie headline thing on the new front page (rubbsh design! bring back the old!)

as long as you keep your system in recommned voltage and your temps are stable in the bios - crank it up!

sometimes when u see a change in the bios in temps that is current leakage - u r starting to damage your chip ever so slightly
