Hi BossOfBosses ,

To be honest looking at the specs of your system you should be thinking of upgrading slightly more of the specifications of it as it stands.

I don`t know what type of games you intend to play on the system if you plan on buying a new graphics card.
But as well as the new card.

As the other poster says you may need to look into also buying a new power supply for the system depending on what graphics cards you have been looking at your self or planning to buy.

Also if you intend to play New game titles released from 2015 to 2016 and 2017.
You are really going to have to buy more system memory to be able to run the games to there full potential.

At the moment as the system stands, 4Gb of system memory fitted is simply not enough free memory to run most games without serious loading problems, or any mid game lagging while playing.

The I3 Intel cpu is ok to play games with, but a I5 Intel cpu instead would also be a better option for more cpu intensive games you wish to play also.

Other than just buying a Nvidia GTX 1050 Graphics card, the amount of system memory and the cpu you currently have fitted will have a great impact on how well games will play with the system and the GTX 1050 card fitted to it.

You need to consider adding another 4Gb of system memory minimum as said and a I5 cpu.

I can tell by looking at the specs that the system was a pre built one, with the windows OS installed and pre configured so it worked out of it`s box the first day you used it BossOfBosses.

If you just fit a GTX 1050 card, I dare say you will not be impressed with the results of fitting it due to only having 4Gb or system memory and a i3 Intel cpu, I have to be honest with you.

But if you follow the advice of upgrading both the memory and the cpu you will be much more happier with the performance increase, and what games the system will be able to play without a struggle.

The i3 3210 is a 3.2GHz dual core i3 with HT. So for most lower end games it'll be fine. It's only when getting into more intense games like GTA V that the i3 will suffer somewhat if the settings are too high. It is a budget system, but being pre-built may or may not take to upgrades very well. You'll have to look up the motherboard bios to see exactly what cpus are viable if that's a direction you think on taking. Windows will accept 8Gb of ram as it's a 64bit platform, and thats cheap enough on ebay, you can get a matched set of 2x4Gb for less than $20 USD.
