So, I ordered a $1300 laptop from Newegg, Thursday morning @ ~5:00am.
Paid:
Laptop $1300
Rush Processing: $2.99
Overnight Shipping: $40
Now we get to fun part.
For some reason FedEx "held" "delayed" my order in Newark NJ for 24 hours, seen below.

Now, it shows up at a FedEx local sort facility.
Oct 4, 2014 12:50 AM At destination sort facility LATHAM, NY
1st things 1st.
I take 1/2 the day off so I can be there to get my package as I am very excited with my new purchase.
FedEx site never updates on Oct. 3rd until after 3pm. Up until that point it says " Scheduled to be delivered by 3:00pm Oct 3. " So 3pm rolls around, still no package, sometime between 3pm and 4pm their website updates to:
" Estimated delivery :
N/A
COHOES, NY US"
Awesome, just lost 1/2 day pay to pick up a package that was NEVER going to arrive on time with 0 notice as to the fact.
So, I get on the phone with FedEx ( now that it's arrived at a sort facility ). Tell them I would like to pick up my package. Their response " We cannot allow you to do that with out the Sender telling us to allow it. " .... wait what? It's my package, it's less than 10miles away and I can't pick it up without authorization from the sender? I've paid for it, it's been shipped.
Okay, now I'm a little frustrated, but, say "Okay if I can get Newegg to call you and authorize pick-up can I pick it up today at the sort facility?" response " Yes you may pick it up today if the Sender authorizes it "
Called Newegg, told them what's happening, their response " it will take 24-48hours for us to get authorization for you to pick up your package " ... what? "so the soonest you would be able to pick it up is Monday. "
Okay, now I'm officially pissed off.
Overall I've always been happy with Newegg Service, but this situation, instills pure hatred for the company and everything it stands for. How can a multi-billion dollar company ship something using a carrier that makes it absolutely impossible for you to pick-up your package without calling the president of the company that shipped such order.
Final notes:
I will never use Newegg again or anyone that ships using FedEx.
I hope this will either deter you from paying for the "overnight" shipping method when using FedEx paired with Newegg, or using Newegg in general.
I honestly can't put into words how frustrated I really am, I tried, but it's not even the tip of this iceberg of anger towards these 2 companies.
