I like NewEgg and have been using them for years but today I had the worst experience with them. I placed three separate orders with them today. Hours later I checked my account and the middle order said it was held up because of "order verification". I also noticed at that time the item I ordered was then out of stock. I clicked their live chat. It said there was a 4 minute wait, but it took over 30 minutes before someone came on. For 30 minutes this person gave me the run around saying there was something wrong with my credit card even though NewEgg used the same card for an order I placed later that day. I don't know if the person didn't speak English well or what, but I felt I was getting answers that didn't really correlate to my questions. Finally, after 30 minutes I asked for a supervisor. I waited 20 minutes then they offered to call me back. I said, okay, but when will I get a call back? No solid answer. So finally I just asked them, is the real reason my order wasn't processed because the item was out of stock? The person typed back that yes it was out of stock. So I canceled the order and ordered the part at Superbiiz instead. What a hassle. If the person had just told me that in the first 3 minutes I wouldn't have wasted an hours of my life.
Then, hours later the supervisor calls me back and says sorry for the misunderstanding and that the item was in stock and that for reasons I still don't understand they didn't process it. I don't know if I believe him or not. I don't think he even looked at the transcript of the chat. Anyway, said he was sorry for the hassle and that was it.
Honestly the chat was so bad if you told me it was an automated computer just responding to key words I wouldn't be at all surprised. This is really a shame because I really like NewEgg.
