Everyone that I have talked to has said to buy your components at newegg, but I just did a google on a part i need that is out of stock at newegg and I came across this company called mwave. not only did they have the component, but it was $100 ceaper. i am a total noob at building, so i was hoping to get some feedback as to the reputation of mwave. maybe I am being paranoid, but I really would prefer not to get ripped off!

Mwave is pretty good. And they will assemble and test a new system for you for $79.
Just chose Assembly and Testing option under the Computers / PCs menu.

$100 price difference is unusually large. $10 I'd believe. Are you sure the parts are identical?

Mwave is reputable, should be no problem. Usually use Newegg since they have good prices, good selection and their site is easy to browse. You can sometimes find better prices for select items at different e-tailers (Corsair PSUs at buy.com for exp) but all in all newegg is usually right in the ballpark on prices

the part is a PSU- PC Power & Cooling S75QB 750W. Last night on newegg it was $150. this morning it was $250. It is still $150 on mwave. I am not sure why newegg raised their price. they have the 860W for the exact same price! who in their right mind would buy the 750 if they could get the 860 for the same price?

Thats a big difference. I also saw the Corsair 750TX was $180 at newegg and $112 at Mwave - both with $10 rebate.
I think a lot of the smaller sites use NewEgg to set their own prices. Want to bet that Mwave's prices change shortly?
It might be a good idea to go ahead and order while you have a good price in sight.

NewEgg Fluctuates it prices quite a bit on certain parts if they are short on inventory or the like sometimes.

It's not unusualy to see a price to see something over-priced on NewEgg.
They are not really gouging sine you can always go else-where.
You just need to price shop to make sure you are getting a good deal.

Are you sure you need a PSU that big? That si a monster.

FYI - NewEgg has the 650w Corsair for about $89 AF and Free shipping at the moment.

But I almost always shop NewEgg for their customer service.
Their Rebate Support is good too.
If a Vendor does not follow through, NewEgg corrects the issue

My experiances with both are good. Prices do fluctuate allot. Zipzoomfly Is also good. It better to use those price cheking sites you see all compaired quckly and easily.

Thanks for the input. I went ahead and grabbed that sucker before the price changed again.

Zen- I think I will need that much power- it is for a gaming rig. I might have been able to get by with 650w for now, but i plan on adding some features in the next 6 months that would need more food!
