Newer Desktop Not Connecting

I am new to the upgraded PC world. I recently bought a gaming desktop (2015) from a friend and it worked for about 3 or 4 hours. I turned off the unit and when I went to turn it back on the monitor received no signal. I have tried every visual port (HDMI, DVI-I and Mini_DP) still nothing, is there anything else I can try before replacing the graphics card? I have taken to a local electronics store (Fry's) and was told most likely it is the graphics card.

I generally trust Fry's. But when it was working, what were you doing on it? Also what is the full specs on this PC? If you know.

I downloaded steam and was downloading some games. I had shut it down to run some errands. Its all msi board is X99A SLI. Card is GTX 980 4GD5T
