Hi! I recently purchased my first smartphone (used Samsung Galaxy S Plus) and it comes with Gingerbread OS (2.3.6). As I can see many new apps require at least android 4x version. For example I would like to use Strava for cycling and Battery Doctor for more optimized usage. Also most of the apps are installed to the internal flash drive and I can't change the folder to external SD card. So would it be beneficial to root my phone? Or is too old and I should look for newer phone? (single core 1,4 ghz, 512 MB ram)? Are there any risks when rooting and what is Google thinking of that? Thanks.
