Hi Guys and Gals,

I have my very first computer built, hardware-wise, and I'm about to install the OS (Windows 7 64 bit). Before I do that, though, I am downloading the latest and greatest motherboard drivers (chipset, LAN, etc.) to put on a thumb drive so I can install them on the new computer before I even connect to the internet. The problem is that when I go to Gigabyte's site to download drivers for my motherboard, which is a:

GA-990XA-UD3 (rev.1.1)

Gigabyte only has drivers listed is for the previous version, which is:

GA-990XA-UD3 (rev.1.0)

In fact, I find no mention of Revision 1.1 of that motherboard anywhere, on Google or otherwise.

What would you do? I sent a question to their tech support, but it may take Taiwan a while to get back to me. Is it a waste of time (or worse) to install the drivers for Revison 1.0 when I have Revision 1.1?

Thanks for any thoughts!
-Heather

Solution
Try installing windows 7. It may find all of your device drivers. Once the lan driver is installed, then you can update your old drivers. You may not need any new drivers for your board to work properly. Windows update may include them, or your new chipset may have some minor changes to the bios.

Thanks o1die! That is what I will do.

By the way, in case anyone else has the same question, Gigabyte tech support got back to me quickly and said that Revisions 1.0 and 1.1 of the GA-990XA-UD3 board are the same, and I can use the 1.0 drivers from their website with no problem.
