[SOLVED] Newly build desktop computer no display

Hi guys, i have newly built desktop computer so i try to connect my desktop hdmi to monitor vga but no display at all but the desktop is working. What do you think is the first troubleshoot i can do?

The adapter you are using is probably not an "active" one, so it doesn't convert the signal from the HDMI port. These are useless in practice but cheaper to make. They are often bought in error because they are cheaper than the real thing.

HDMI is digital output only, whereas VGA input on monitor is analog only. You therefore need an adapter which incorporates a digital-to-analog converter. This is known as an "active" adapter. Like the one here:
