This is my first community post, and this is my first computer built. I've tried the troubleshooting process listed here, and yet the problem still persists. I think I may have narrowed it down though.
The computer I just built wasn't turning on for a good while until I fiddled with the front panel connectors a bit. Then it turned on, and I turned it off and tried to turn it on again without touching any of the wires. However, it didn't work for a while and for a long period of unsuccessful front panel connector jiggling until I finally got it going again. However, it only turned on the once and when I tried to turn it on again I was unable to elicit any response.
The motherboard shows an LED light up when the power supply is plugged in, and the little BIOS sign in the back flashes, but it seems that the computer - fans and all - do not turn on unless the front panel connectors are fiddled with.
The question is, is there anything i can do to make the startup more reliable? I don't want to have to jiggle the connectors for a good 5 minutes each time I want to boot the PC up. They seem to be in tight, and I believe they are connected in the right places, but is there some step I'm missing?
My Specs, in case they help
Asus Z77 Motherboard
Intel i7 3770k processor
Geforce GTX 680 VGA
Coolermaster Extreme 2 725 PSU
THose are the most important parts, if the peripheral bits are really needed then I'll add them in
Thanks!
