Question Newly built PC has lights on the back of the motherboard, but doesn't boot and doesn't light up the diagnostic QLEDs ?

Nov 29, 2020
Hi all,

I built my first ever PC over the weekend. Followed the manuals as best I could but when it was time to power everything up, I couldn't manage to get the machine to boot. I've checked quite a few other posts and carried out some diagnostics:

Tested the PSU using the jumper wires, they're all working
Stripped the components down to just the CPU, cooler and 1 stick of RAM, no response
Checked all connections about 10 times to make sure they were all in place
Re-installed the CPU
pulled the motherboard out of the case and tried to boot up

I've built everything up into the case again and wanted to see if anyone on here could help. Attaching photos to help.

Specs as follows:
  • Mobo: ASUS TUF gaming X570
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8)
  • SSD: Samsung 970 EVO
  • Graphics: ASUS Phoenix GTX 1650 Super OC
  • PSU: Corsair RM650
  • Case: Cooler Master Masterbox MB511
