Newly built PC no display, help please!

So this is my first built pc with some help from an experienced friend of course.
Components:
Gtx 980ti sc
32gb ddr 4 ram
Maximus viii hero mb
I7 6700k proccessor
Evga 850 gold psu
Cooler master water cooling

Pc turns on perfectly fine, altough no video, no beeps nothing. What could it be?

is the video cable plugged into the card or the motherboard? it's suppose to be plugged into the video card FYI.

Yes I plugged into the video card and then I tried the mobo video input, incase it was a problem with the GPU, but its not.. Thats why I cant understand what could be wrong

I would remove the video card and try to boot it. if still nothing then remove the ram then boot you should hear a beeping noise, if not then re-seat your CPU. still nothing? you have a motherboard or a CPU issue.

Ps: I had forgotten to connect the cpu power to the power supply, might of left out something else. But ill try the mentioned above first

Okay, it worked without the GPU, but what could be the problem its a brand new GTX 980 ti sc+ acx

Okay sorted it out.
Incase some other newbie has the same problem.
Install your windows first using your motherboard display input, and once installed then you can throw in the graphic card, and it should be fine.

There's a setting in bios that gives preference to a video card if it's present. Check that it is enabled.

Advanced tab of BIOS, Systems Agent Config, Graphics Config, set to PCI-E
