Newly built PC no GPU

So, I've just built my pc and realised that it does not read the GPU I've installed but takes integrated graphics instead, I've tried changing it from integrated graphics to PCI-E in the BIOS but when I turned on the machine back again, a CMD popped up and read something which I couldnt read as there was a lot and it disappiered fast but I know it read something about the PCI-E and then I looked and sure enough, integrated graphics, I know my GPU works as the LEDs are working and the fans too.
Could it be because I havent installed the drivers yet?

Yes, it probably is the driver issue. This happens on all new builds. However, have you made sure your display cable is connected to the motherboard? If so, it should be connected to the GPU.

No the gpu does not need drivers to boot up and display something on screen. Your specs might help. Are you plugging your display cable into the back of the gpu and not the motherboard? Have you connected the pcie power cables to the gpu from the psu if it needs any?

Put in the GPU in your motherboard > display cable plugged in GPU ports and the other end to monitor > start PC and install drivers.

Download the latest drivers. You don't need drivers for GPU to give display, but for the GPU to perform, you need drivers.

Thank you all very much, I figured it out myself short after, but thank you for your input and yes, you were correct. Short after I figured out myself that I had to plug the display cable into the GPU and not the motherboard and it went from 14-20 fps in a benchmark to 110-230! I feel so stupid honestly, although it's my first time building a PC, I still feel so stupid for not releasing it.
