Hello, I just recently bought several upgrades to my PC and needed a new case as well to fit this new hardware. The problem is I have everything plugged in correctly and unplugged and replugged them in. My PC powers for about 1 second-all the fans and lights come on- then turns off.. my specs are:

MSI z97 gaming 5 Mobo
GeForce GTx 760 gfx card
4x8(32) GB corsair vengeance ddr3 RAM
EVGA gq 1000 watt psu
Intel core i7 4790 LGA 1150 processor
Ihas-c odd
Stock 1tb SATA HDD from old PC

I'm not sure what the issue is, before I replaced the processor it would stay on but not output any display. I replaced an i7 6700k LGA 1151 with the one listed above. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm not sure, I bought the processor not knowing it wasn't compatible, it didn't fit in perfectly so I figured I should replace it. This 1150 fits but for some reason not staying on when i hit the power switch to turn the PC on.

I do not have an 8 pin connector or spot on the Mobo for one. Are you referring to the ATX from the power supply? If so then yes. I have everything from my case plugged into my Mobo.

I just removed the RAM and it stays on for about a minute then cycles and then stays on again.. still no display being output

Ok I'm getting display now with a single RAM in it. Do I plug my gfx card back in and try again?

Ok process of elimination. I think I'm good now. Thank you for your help, much appreciated.

A little update- seems only 16gb of RAM work, I tried the other two slots and they seem to not work. Is there anyway to fix this?

It seems the right 2 RAM slots do not work, I tried a single RAM in 3 & 4 and PC just boots on and off. my first two slots work, so I'm running 16gb now.

I looked at my processor slot, and none of the pins are irregular, I'm fine with 16gb ram, just wish I could use the full 32 I had bought
