Newly built system. Can't boot from DvD or USB drive! NEED HELP ASAP!

Hello,

I have built a new system for a friend of mine. Everything seems to be connected fine. When I turn on the pc, I go to the bios as there is no installed OS. However when I try to boot from a usb or a dvd to intall Windows 7, all I get is a black screen and then it reboots and takes me back to the bios. The motherboard is ASUS B85M-E incase it has to do anything with that. I have tried changing the bios setting but nothing would happen. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

PS. I have installed Windows 7 from both the usb and the dvd successfully in the past, so I don't think that's the problem.

Check whether the usb or dvd is bootable, boot priority, hard drive or ssd or mobo for errors.

Both dvd and usb are bootable. Changing boot priority didn't have any effect. However you might be right about mobo errors but I don't know how to confirm that. I have tried a different disk driver incase that was the matter but it turned out it wasn't.

Return the mobo to the manufacturer or seller or take it to an expert shop and check whether its sorking and if not replace it.

I am going to try this one later, if there isn't anything else left to do. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

You can install the os on another pc and just put the drive back in the new build
