Just made a new build. Installed ASUS Z97-A motherboard w/ Intel 4690k.

Have Windows 7 on ISO, used rufus and Windows USB 7 Tool to make the USB bootable.

Connected it everything fine, went into BIOS and set my USB stick to first priority to boot.

Windows won't install.

Windows splash screen comes on for a second and "startup repair" comes on. Messed around with BIOS settings all night and gave up.

Read all similar threads on here and attempted their solutions to no success. Changed USB preference from 'partial' to 'full' initialization. Disabled fast boot. When I disabled my HD to try to load just from USB, it would just go back to the BIOS.

Anyone have a clue to what is going on?

Attempted that, no go.

Disabled the HD and goes straight to BIOS screen if I boot from USB.

Yes, made sure to use usb 2.0 port. Attempted both the windows 7 usb tool and rufus to make the usb bootable. Same effect. So far have tried to adjust the following settings in BIOS:

- Legacy Enabled
- Secure Boot Disabled/Enabled
- USB Partial Initialization => Full Initialization
- Fast Boot Disabled/Enabled
- xHCI Disabled/Enabled

If first boot is USB and second boot is HD, windows splash screen comes on for less than a second, it goes to autorepair and it isn't successful.

If first boot is USB and I disable HD, no windows splash screen, just goes straight to BIOS again.

F6 yielded no results.

So I have tried:

- Disable Fast Boot
- Enabled Legacy
- First Boot: USB Drive, in a USB 2.0 Slot
- Disabled Secure Boot
- Along with everything else mentioned previously

I feel like I'm out of options.

No avail. I'm going to wipe out the USB and redo the USB bootable device with rufus.

You reset Bios to factory defaults and try to boot from USB. Another way i think, you create bootable Windows disk and try to load it.
check from manufacturer website, which is the latest bios version available to upgrade.

I got my USB to boot. The solution was odd. I booted the 32-bit version of Windows, the previous USB stick I was trying to boot was a 64-bit version. I'm not sure why the 64-bit wouldn't boot, as all my hardware should be compatible, but I guess I'll upgrade it afterward.

I'm having the exact same problem, but I've had no luck with the solutions suggested here. Have you found any other solutions?
