I doubt a .2" increase from 5.3 would make that much of a difference... that might be screensize and not actual handset size... the S3 is barely any bigger than a skyrocket in terms of height and width
Part of me really wants one, but part of me saw the first one in a store recently and was surprised to see how big a five-plus-inch screen really is...
It's lower screen res because it's going narrower and longer on the display. Where the Note had a fat display, the Note 2 will be true widescreen. Screen size goes up but overall dimensions stay the same, which means a smaller bezel. Sounds good to me.

The Note2 is a bit smaller than the original Note. 1280x720 vs 1280x800 which means it is 80 pixels narrower and about 3/8" physically narrower because of the smaller bezel and the reported use of the new Corning Willow glass. It will be the same length as the original all while having a longer screen. This means it will be easier for people with smaller hands.
