Next-gen graphics cards?

Should I wait until the next-generation of graphics cards from AMD/Nvidia are released to rebuild my computer?

Also, the Haswell processors are right around the corner. It just seems silly to get an Ivy Bridge and Nvidia Kepler PC when the next-gen hardware is just months away.

Based on what I've read, the GTX 7xx and HD 8xxx are highly revised and improved versions of the current micro-architecture and we won't see the Nvidia Maxwell and Radeon "????" architectures until sometime late in 2014.

Right now, I already have the skeleton for my new build, which includes the mid-tower case, the power supply (850W), a 1TB 7200RPM performance hard drive, the blu-ray disk drive, windows 8 professional , and Norton 2013 anti-virus.

Off-topic, but what improvements will be made with the Haswell chipset compared to the Ivy Bridge chipset?

I've been reading that there is going to be a refresh of the GTX 6xx and HD 7xxx in February or March of 2013.

It's the exact same chips, but revised and improved. Much like the GTX 480> GTX 580.

Is this true?

I know what you mean by, buy now or you'll always be waiting and have nothing in the meantime, but. Later in the game when new stuff is about to be launched it inst necessary for these advisement's, not now since the beginning of a new era is about to begin.

Yea right now we bout to be on launch date so for the higher end cards we dont have to wait long..Now if it was someone buying the 660ti 660 then the wait would be way longer

Intel has decided to delay Haswell until at least June; or so the rumors have it. The reasons are many:

1. Give more time for existing stock of CPUs, desktops and especially laptops to sell.
2. In early June there is an electronics trade show in Taiwan (forget what it's called) were all electronics manufacturers gets to showoff what they have.
3. There has been an internal memo instructing vendors not to advertise, sell or mention anything at all about Haswell based products until June 2nd.

AMD should be releasing the Radeon HD 8000 series in summer; or at least that's what most people expect.
