[SOLVED] Next upgrade help for more M.2 drives

Hi all, I currently have the b450 Steel legend edition EATX motherboard. Currently running 4 SSD'S and 2 M.2 NVME drives with a Ryzen 7 and 32gb Ram.

I would like to upgrade the motherboard so that I can run more drives and more importantly I would like 3 slots for M.2 drives running.

Which would be best as an upgrade?

You are going to have to go to a threadripper or some other CPU with more PCIe lanes if you want 3 full bandwidth NVMe drives.

so I need to keep swapping them about and are in caddies, I would just prefer to have them attached to the motherboard

Gaming difference between SATA III and NVMe is minimal, trending to zero.

There are PCIe adapters for M.2 NVMe drives. But that may impact the GPU performance in the other slot(s).

Generally, no.

Larger drives, rather than more drives.

My system (specs below) has 7 drives.
6x SATA III SSD and 1x NVMe in a PCIe slot adapter.

One of the smallest (7 year old 250GB) is about to be replaced by a new 1TB.

my m.2 are all 1TB each, the sata 3 ssds are a mixture of 500gb and 1tb. Maybe i should get the 2tb sata 3 and keep the B450
