Solution
are motherboards available with 8 or more sata 3 connections? and also with 2 m.2 drives?
Generally, no.

Larger drives, rather than more drives.

My system (specs below) has 7 drives.
6x SATA III SSD and 1x NVMe in a PCIe slot adapter.

One of the smallest (7 year old 250GB) is about to be replaced by a new 1TB.

Hi all, I currently have the b450 Steel legend edition EATX motherboard. Currently running 4 SSD'S and 2 M.2 NVME drives with a Ryzen 7 and 32gb Ram.

I would like to upgrade the motherboard so that I can run more drives and more importantly I would like 3 slots for M.2 drives running.

Which would be best as an upgrade?

Thanks Richard
You are going to have to go to a threadripper or some other CPU with more PCIe lanes if you want 3 full bandwidth NVMe drives.

I currently have 4 of these for gaming and

This one for photshop

Steam, Origin, Rockstar and downloaded games

so I need to keep swapping them about and are in caddies, I would just prefer to have them attached to the motherboard

Thanks
