i read that the next xbox is going to be backwards compatible with an actual xbox 360 on a chip and not emulation. ive never had an xbox before (i ussually do pc gaming) and im wondering if since its backwards compatible, can i play 360 games on xbox live with friends that still have the 360 and not the newer one.

PS: also with it having a 360 on a chip but still being a new console, will 360 games look "better"

I don't buy that. The new XBox is going to use an AMD x86 based chip, yet they say in that article the 360 chip will be in there to give additional proccesing. The 360 chip is PowerPC chip. Trying to interface that with an X86 chip doesn't sound like fun and not worth it.

Wait till the 21st and see what the actual specs are.
