I have a question for you I want you to answer, when you say around my "area"...
Are you connecting by city wifi, apartment complex provided or wifi access of a neighbor you don't have permission to share ?
If the status says you have limited internet access to that wifi connection, all your devices would be able to do is transmit data back and forth locally with no web access.
If this is your network your trying to get access, please provide the router name, model number and also a screenshot of your...

I would recommend you to follow these steps and check if it helps.

Method 1

Run Network troubleshooter.

1. Press “windows Key + W”. from the start screen
2. Type “Troubleshooting” in the search box and hit enter.
3. Select “Network and Internet” option
4. First select “Internet connections” troubleshooter.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
6. Then select “Network Adapter” troubleshooter and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2

Reset TCPIP and check if it works.

a) Boot to the desktop view.

b) Open command prompt, right click in the left corner when the Start window appear and select command prompt (admin).

c) At the command prompt, copy and paste (or type) the following command and then press ENTER:
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Note: If you do not want to specify a directory path for the log file, use the following command:
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

d) Reboot the computer.

@jo Kelly I have tried those steps already and nothing work.

last night i tried a different network and it connected to the wifi easily so makes me believe its nothing wrong with the device but possibly the modem although i am able to connect onto wifi using my cellphone but not the tablet.

any idea what it might be and what should i do next?

Has your network adapter got a static IP address because this could stop it connecting to the router. If not the case, it could be that your tablet is being blocked by your router. You may try to log in to your router and go into parental controls and see if the tablet is being blocked by its MAC address. And if the problem persists, try to reset your wireless router and see how it goes.
