I'd heard of nginx, but I'm not familiar with it. Here's what the package description says:

nginx [engine x] is a HTTP server and IMAP/POP3 proxy server written by Igor Sysoev. It has been running on many heavily loaded Russian sites for more than two years.

Of course, that "two years" claim was probably made a long time ago. These package descriptions typically aren't updated very often.
