NF2 GF4MX- Optimal processor

I could go searching for the answer for this but figured finding scaling results for the nforce2 video would be kinda difficult.

<b>Would a athlon 1700+ hold back the onboard GF4MX of an nforce2?

I would like to max out the GF4MX, not the processor.</b>
That is with dual channel DDR400 at the strictest timings.

I'm going to build a 3rd system with these goodies
Leadtek Nforce2 w/builtin LAN/SoundStorm/GF4MX
Athlon 1700+ (palomino)
2x256 DDR 400 whatever brand has good timings
Antec LanBoy case/psu
17" monitor

Leaving my main system (in the sig) with a new 2500+ (o/cing to 2.2ghz+), a new sony 21" and a GF FX5600 Ultra rev.2 (if I can ever find one).

My GF3 will probably go in my disgraceful willamette P4 1.5ghz system.

This is all for my newfound EQ addiction and hopefully three boxing in WoW in 2004.

I would say no..the Athlon XP1700+ should NOT hold back the GF4MX

I figured the ram I put in for the dual ddr would make a much larger difference than the processor..
and i want a new 2500+ in my main system :tongue:
