NH-D14, controlling with Speedfan

G'day, I've recently come across the fact my CPU is annoyingly loud when i try to sleep.

And with my research Speedfan looks like the program to handle a quick change in speed for my CPU fan.

But i have kind of ran into a brick wall, i don't know how to make the fan actually manually adjusted. Many people say to change to 'software controlled' but all that does is turn it off.

Any help would be appreciated.

Those Noctua fans should also come with voltage regulators which you put in between the fan connector and your MOBO, which can control the speed that way. Why is your PC actively running all night anyways, no sleep or anything?
