Hey guys, I thought I made a great deal earlier today by buying myself Noctua's NH-D15 at 50% discount. Eager and not without much of a thought I just bought it as I knew (and the seller told me) it has compability with am4. However I may have run into a minor problem..

When I try to mount the AM4 brackets onto the mobo backplate the screwholes just won't fit. Have anyone any experience from this and can tell me what I have to do?

Best regards,

You received an older package. That's not the AM4 bracket; that's the AM2/3 one.
You need to request the AM4 bracket from Noctua support.

Ah, that's what I was afraid of. But I thought it was AM4 brackets since the seller told me so... Do Noctua hand out these free of charge or do I have to pay for the NM4? My English is limited but if I understand Noctuas FAQ right I'll get these for free if I also send them receipt of CPU-cooler and Mobo?

I was able to get fan clips from them for free. I was surprised at how fast they shipped those little things to me across the Atlantic. Literal next day air...😵
You should get the same treatment - you already paid for it.
The newer packages do have AM4 brackets in them. I was able to tell you because I own a NH-D15S and the package doesn't list AM4 either.
