NHL jersey size

So my family bought me an ennis jersey ( buffalo sabres) awhile back and I never wore it to a game due to the fact I thought It was kinda big. Its a medium premier jersey and when I wear my hoodie or jacket underneath it looks fine shoulder wise and chest because I have broad shoulders already, but its sorta long on me. I usually wear smalls in shirts except on rare occasions when I have to wear a medium, I'm 5'7" and my question is if I would look like a twat/ not knowing how to dress if it seemed a bit long on me. Maybe I can get a tailor to size it down?

Jerseys should always be big imo... not form fitting....

Exactly. Jerseys that "fit" look wrong. They should be at least one size too big, usually "looking" like they are two sizes too big. Especially hockey and football jerseys.

thanks unoriginal1 and MOD darkbreeze. I wore the jersey today to the game and felt comfortable! sabres spanked the leafs 4-0 preseason game.
