Hey y'all,

I'm running into this bug in Windows 7 where "deep sleep mode" makes the OS lose your NIC. I've tried all the fixes listed here and before I spend money to put a new NIC in the MOBO, I thought I'd consult you fine gentlemen one last time.

Motherboard is an ASUS P8Z68-V LX

Quick run down on the problem:

When using the provided Realtek drivers, the process goes as far to starting to detect the present network adapters, before prompting, "Realtek Ethernet cable was not found if deep sleep mode is enabled plug the cable"

NIC is enabled in bios (Motherboard is an ASUS P8Z68-V LX)

Turned off power supply, turned power supply back on, rebooted, ensured NIC was enabled in bios, NIC not found

Removed RAM, turned off power supply, reinserted RAM, turned power supply back on, rebooted, ensured NIC was enabled in bios, NIC not found.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers to all.

Solution
Wow, I haven't seen that one in a long time. Usually installing the latest drivers resolved the issue.
