Nighthawk C7100V Modem/Router combo. Charter internet already added the modem. Working. Problem: When the family is using the TV and Samsung player to watch netflix over wifi, my hardwired connection to my PS4 has horrible connection issues. The connection meter in BO3 match options varies between 50 and 70ms, sometimes jumping above 100ms. It is normally below 30ms with older netgear router. I am wondering if it is my settings, so I am adjusting things.

Manual settings in PS4: Set PS4 to static IP, Using OpenDNS servers, PS4 IP in DMZ, DMZ enabled, LAN Setup has "Use Gateway as DHCP Server" checked. Added "Address Reservation" for PS4 IP and MAC address of the PS4. UPnP enabled. I adjusted Port 1(ps4 wired port) LAN Switch from auto to highest speed 1000 and Full Duplex. Any other settings I should tweak? As of right now it varies between 50 and 70ms ping. Speedtest while streaming Netflix shows 7ms Ping, 107Dowload, 6Upload.
So, not understanding why my computer right next to my ps4 is showing low ping.
Anyway....
Still have problems.

Other info, I have their wifi of 2.4Ghz set to highest mode of up to 600MBPS. And 5Ghz to 1300MBPS.

Not sure what to suggest you should not have issues with that much bandwidth.

A random note. You always want to leave the ports set to auto they get very confused when you start setting thing manually. You would only worry about it if for some reason auto did not correctly work

Netflix uses very little bandwidth...at least in relationship to a 100mbps connection. That router can easily handle that much traffic. Even if it has wifi problems any issue would stay in the radio chips. The radio chips do the vast majority of the work in a wifi connection without help from the main cpu.

You have to be careful about comparing ping times from different things. The servers are in different locations likely. Just like if you...

What is most strange is why it was 30ms before and is now 70ms. You can run a tracert to the game company server and try to see where the delay is. Most times you can not do much but at least you would know why.

If this was not a cable modem router I would say to swap your old router and compare. When you have a cable modem involved the cable company needs to make changes to allow you to swap it so it is not something you can just do.
