The P1000 is amazing but too huge for most purposes. I ended up with the much less expensive Nikon B700 that has literally 2/3rd the zoom range but in a small/light pocketable size. Some sample zoom footage at night shot from the top of the Empire State Building is at https://youtu.be/n7N7uIctnXk
