Don't know that scanner. But you might need ASPI layer that you download
from microsoft. Since you mention adaptec it must be a SCSI scanner. My
Win XP Pro already has the SCSI drivers, don't know about XP Home. My guess
is you also need XP scanner software for your scanner and hopefully it's
available from the scanner manufacturer. Good luck

Since (IIRC) both Windows 2K and Windows XP does not include the ASPI layer
code, that is quite possibly true ... but a better download source would
probably be Adaptec, the company that developed it. It's in the 'Support'
section of their web site ... at
