if i do not have a graphics card in my computer.....will i still be able to see text? Is the graphics card related to all display or just pics/videos??

All of it. You might have an onboard graphics chip however, either an intel extreme/GMA, ATI 2 or 3-series or some nvidia chip. If so, that will do.
