I just built my rig today and somewhat the option for 1680x1050 resolution is missing from my display settings.
MSI Eclipse Plus
Core i7 950 @ 3.07GHz
6x2GB 12GB DDR3-1600
MSI NGTX295 (Single PCB)
300GB Velociraptor (C Drive) + WD 1TB (D Drive)
Vista Ultimate x64
I've tried changing to the latest drivers from Nvidia, LV2G, MSI and they all failed to display 1680x1050 which is the native res.
I have also installed the latest monitor .inf drivers from Samsung.
Also tried using both DVI and VGA cables for a switch but they do not seem to be of any help.
I've also tried powerstrip, added custom resolutions, restarted the system but it was no avail.
Could it be the monitor (Samsung 226BW), or the GPU itself that failed to recognize that 16:10 resolution? I'm all out of ideas. I'm now using the crappy 1280x800  - that was the max resolution it shows as of now.
Sidenote: Prior to my new rig, I had Windows XP x86 and there was no problem with it detecting its native res. Am I suspecting a bad monitor x64 driver conflict?
