That's one thing that I've noticed about Newegg. They typically run their inventory based on market trends. When a product sells well they stock it. (Though sometimes at irregular intervals because they greatly avoid 'overstocking', so sometimes their small quantities run out very quickly on highly desired items and you end up with a lot of availability stuttering.) And when sales drop they just don't order any more and let their stock run out, even if some customers still want one. So Newegg is great for 'trendy' purchases when the initial demand has settled to a normal level, but can be frustrating for people buying extremely high demand or relatively low demand products. :\
But then that's what other stores are for, to buy things that aren't in stock at Newegg.
