Hello,

Installed Win 11 from scratch. Connected via HDMI to a monitor with integrated speakers. Worked fine under Win 10. Now Win 11 only sees Headphones (analog output) as sole output for audio. I even manually installed the correct Samsung monitor driver but that didn't help. Also made sure the latest Intel graphics driver was installed.

Any idea?

Solution
Just to update on the windows 10 surface pro. I ended up doing a reset and told it to keep all files. When I did so, audio began to work again. Interesting though is that it bumped the surface back to windows 10 20h2, and didn’t offer it 21h1 in updates.

Windows 11 bug(s).

Expect X number of versions/corrections in the weeks and months ahead.

Microsoft may fix "headphones" only to have something else break.

Consider anything you do with Windows 11 as testing/experimental.

To be honest, I am not even going to bother with a test installation for the next 2 or 3 months.

Under some circumstances, but not now, I would do some "testing".

For the time being - just watching. :)
