[SOLVED] No audio device installed

Dear all, on the PC of my son, I get a really strange error. It says "No Audio device installed" even though in the device manager, all audio devices show up as fully functional. I would really like to post a screen shot, but maybe am not allowed to since it is my first post in this forum. I tried the (rather mechanical) advice in here, without success so far. Does anyone have an idea what to do? My son has an Arctic Steel Pro headset which worked fine until yesterday. Yesterday, the KB5010342 update was installed, after which the sound stopped working. I am happy for any ideas.

The KB5010342 update included sound related fixes.

For starters, I would reinstall the drivers for your sound hardware.
Download directly from the maker site.

Or, uninstall the KB5010342 update.
