I did a clean install of Win10 (Home, if it matters) on my Toshiba Satellite P55T-B5156. Before this, I had no problem with audio, but since the new install, no audio comes out of the speakers or headphones. If you look at the volume mixer, the levels go up and down as normal, but there is no audio coming out. I do occasionally hear pops coming from the speakers, but not with any regularity or pattern that would indicate what the problem might be.

I have run the troubleshooter, updated the Realtek drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled in Device Manager, disabled the Enhancements, restarted the services and even clean installed the OS again, but still nothing. Because there was audio literally up until the second I started the install, it seems a hardware problem is unlikely.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

>> does your Realtek have a yellow triangle on it or red X perhaps

Nope.

>> Toshiba has specialized drivers that permits those nifty volume up and down buttons to work with the sound card, I assume you used the Toshiba drivers for your laptops?

Yes. Also the MS recommended and also non-Toshiba drivers, and no soap for all.
