No audio recording devices work

None of my audio input devices are working. The troubleshooter in settings says it can't identify the problem. I've tried everything I can think of; deleting and reinstalling drivers (although I'm not sure I've done it properly), checking the "levels" tab in sound settings, plugging in another mic. I haven't reinstalled Windows yet, though. That seems like a last resort. I am almost 100% sure it's a software issue since I've tried using both the built-in mic on the computer and two separate external microphones. I frequently use Discord and other voice programs to chat with people. Please post any ideas you might have for a solution to this ASAP! <3

Hello josse.wesmet

If the issue started after your Windows was updated, can you please try going to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and enable the switch to allow the apps to access it?

Please report back if the solution doesn't work, and you need further assistance in this.

Cheers!!

Wow, yes, this worked!! I didn't think about the privacy settings at all, thank you. I am still a bit confused as for why the sound settings couldn't pick up any audio (since I wouldn't consider them an "app") but now they can and I'm super glad this worked!
