No Beeps, vid card & cooler work, all fans work, storage light on = bad

Well this is my first build. I regret it utterly. I told my friends I just wanted professionals to make it and they told me "its legos" and all this non-sense. There's nothing easy about any of this and I wish I could just send all this stuff back and pay a professional to make me a real PC that actually works.

My vid card covers all my motherboard lights EXCEPT one - the storage light. The storage light is orange. According to my manual, that means it is bad/not working correctly - if it stays lit and it does

Is it because my sata data cable is connected to a sata express outlet?

My SSD works fine on my old PC, on new PC, I see this orange light, meaning it ain't jiving.

I plugged it into the SATA express outlet because its the only one I can reach w/o removing the video card.

I get no beeps, no display. I tried all kinds of rams configs... My fan hub didn't work either so I plugged all the fans into connections on the mobo instead and now they work.

I have an asus sabertooth z170 mark 1 motherboard.

forgot to add i get no post no beeps no display, i held delete like someone told me, no bios or anything. this monitor and the hdmi cord work on old pc too. i got no idea what to do.

Can I just box all this stuff up and send it back to Amazon? I mean.. does it all have to be repacked perfectly? Cuz that's gunna be a might of a problem. Never again am I messing with this ridiculous crap of self build.

First, don't connect SATA to eSATA, even if it supports both. I've run into issues using eSATA ports unless connected to an external RAID box, which is mainly what it is meant for. Can you temporarily connect the SSD to a regular SAT port without it being mounted? It might hang open temporarily, but it'll allow you to test it. You may just need to get a longer SATA cable, if that's the issue.

I think this board, you have to connect a speaker to get POST beeps. I didn't see any indication that one was connected. This isn't the external speakers. this would be a system speaker. If you can connect one, these should be the codes for this model mainboard:

1 short DRAM refresh failure
2 short Parity circuit failure
3 short Base 64K RAM failure
4 short System timer failure
5 short Process failure
6 short Keyboard controller Gate A20 error
7 short Virtual mode exception error
