Hi,

My PC has been running fine for a number of years. However, it began not posting without a few power cycles. Now it has stopped posting at all. There is no post 'beep', the red VGA LED on the mobo stays lit and nothing at all displays (inc. BIOS).

How do I tell if it's the mobo or the CPU?

Spec:
Cpu: i7 4770
Mobo: Asus z87-a
Cpu cooler: Noctua
Gpu: Integrated (no other installed)
Ram: Corsair vengeance 4x8gb
Psu: Corsair RM850
Ssd: Samsung 240 500GB

I have:
  • Tried all monitor output ports
  • Cleared CMOS
  • Tried installing two different physical GPU cards
  • Removing all additional hardware and peripherals, inc. RAM
  • checked all voltages from the PSU
...and lots of other things I can't remember off the top of my head, all without resolving the issue.

If the bios not working, there's high chance that ur cpu is the problem

Thanks for the reply.

I am just assuming the BIOS is not working, because (a) I can't see any display and (b) I don't hear a beep. I suppose it could be working but I just can't see it?

Excuse my ignorance, but is it possible for a CPU's integrated graphics to fail, but the rest of it function properly (so far as I can tell)?

It would be good if I can narrow it down to the CPU, as that's a relatively easy purchase and swap :)
